Philosophy Department Alumni Reunion and Conference April 26-28, 2013

Dear Alumni,

There’s still time to register for “Frontiers of Philosophy: 42 Years of PhDs from the Philosophy Department at Stony Brook University” to be held on April 26-28.

We have planned several exciting panels on feminism; on nature, technology, and environmental ethics; and on the intersection of the history of philosophy and interdisciplinary studies.

Your colleagues and fellow alumni, Susan Bordo ’82, Terry Pinkard ’74, Charles Johnson ’88, and Paul Thompson ’80, have agreed to participate as plenary speakers. The program offers a number of exceptional events: our Friday schedule will include a special tribute to professor David Allison, PhD; a welcome reception; the first Don Ihde Prize in Philosophy will be awarded on Saturday afternoon and on Saturday night, we will have a gala dinner attended by the President and Provost, who will be new to most of you.

We hope that you will be able to join us for these milestone events. Click here for the preliminary full conference schedule.
