Stony Brook Alumni Association Annual Student Awards Deadline 2/15/13

The Stony Brook Alumni Association has awarded Stony Brook students more than $198,000 in scholarship money. This year, eight deserving students will win scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000.

If you are a leader, excel in academics, or have made a difference in the community, this is a great opportunity to be rewarded for all of your hard work. Award recipients will be honored at an award ceremony on April 22, 2013.

All matriculated students who are currently registered for 6 or more credits are encouraged to apply. Please see the award descriptions for specific eligibility details.

Please complete online application and submit supporting materials to the Office of Alumni Relations by the application deadline:

Final deadline: Friday, February 15, 2013 by 5 p.m.

Wolfstock 2012

Dear Alumni and Friends,

It was great to see you and so many other alumni, faculty, students, neighbors and friends last Saturday at Homecoming!

Over 1,900 attended the barbeque and 10,000 packed the stadium and cheered the Seawolves onto an exciting win.

By the way, this Saturday, the Seawolves take on Army at West Point at 12 pm on CBS Sports Network.

Go Seawolves!

Seawolves Dominate at Wolfstock 2011

Homecoming 2011A sold-out crowd of more than 8,200 fans were treated to a Homecominggame filled with offense, defense, and special teams as the Stony BrookSeawolves defeated the Lafayette Leopards, 37-20, at LaValle Stadium on September 24.

The new Homecoming King, Nicholas Ela, and Queen, Jaime Poynter, were crowned during halftime. Ela is a junior computer science major who is an Undergraduate Student Government Senator and Resident Hall Association President. He is also involved in the National Residence Hall Honorary and Community Service Club. Poynter is a senior psychology major, child and family studies minor, who is a resident assistant in Lauterbur Hall and works as a senior academic peer advisor with Academic and Pre-Professional Advising.

Wolfstock Village featured activities for all—alumni, students, faculty, staff, their families, and community members—including a barbecue buffet, Kids Zone with carnival games and inflatables, and entertainment by Almost FamousThe Spirit of Stony Brook marching band and dance team led fans to the game, and the Seawolves victory was followed with a firework display.Homecoming 2011 Village
